Montemelino Ciliegio 2023 – Umbria IGT Rosato

(Ciliegiolo) The wine has a pale pink color. On the nose, it is delicately aromatic, elegant and expresses notes of red orange, raspberry, (especially on the first nose), dried strawberry, clementine, a touch of lavender, rosemary, sage, a hint of mint, as well as a woody touch of toasted hazelnut and almond, even if there has been no aging in wood. The palate is excessive and tangy. It expresses notes of lime, a smoky touch of bergamot and Earl Gray tea, raspberry, red currant, rose, a herbaceous hint (rosemary, sage, rose stem). The palate offers lively acidity and a pleasant bitter touch of grapefruit on the finish. An original wine, with a rather different nose and palate, airy, with a delicate structure and good length.
