Champagne Philipponnat Cuvée 1522 Rosé Premier Cru Extra-Brut – 2015

Champagne Philipponnat Cuvée 1522 Rosé Premier Cru Extra-Brut – 2015

(77% Pinot Noir, 23% – Chardonnay, disgorged in July 2023, dosage 4.5 gr/l) The wine has a bright raspberry color. The bubbles in the eye are fine and numerous. The first nose is dense and airy at the same time, with a sweet hint of red cherry jam and lots of gourmandise and juiciness. On the second nose, the aromas become richer and more expressive: we find notes of wild strawberry, berberis, vine peach, red apple, as well as a liveliness of bitter orange in the background, candied lemon and grapefruit, with a touch of mint. After aeration, the champagne also offers floral scents of fresh rose, rose water, lilac, as well as a very delicate touch of toast, vanilla, cherry yogurt and toasted brioche. The palate is refined and very elegant. From the attack, we notice a good bitterness of grapefruit and lime, as well as a lot of freshness. We find the flavors of fresh red cherry, cherry yogurt, berberis, cranberries, vine peach and wild strawberry, associated with notes of lilac, rose water in the background, toasted hazelnut, brioche and dried rose, as well as a hint of saffron and nutmeg. The finish is long, tangy, with freshness, good bitterness and precision. Lots of elegance and complexity. A great champagne, precise, concentrated and subtle, with a racy minerality, liveliness and a velvety, filling mousse.
