Domaine Roger Belland Criots Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2022 – Criots Bâtard-Montrachet

The wine has a lemon yellow color of medium intensity. The nose offers accuracy, beautiful complexity, freshness and elegance. The first nose is woody (fresh wood, fresh hazelnut, fresh almond), but after aeration, it obtains refined and airy notes of white flowers (acacia, hawthorn, lily), a gourmet and very discreet touch of flower honey , lemon yogurt, sweet spices (ground cumin, cardamom, vanilla), as well as gourmet aromas of stone fruits (crunchy apricot, white peach, yellow peach) and a chiseled hint of fresh lemon, zest of lime and candied grapefruit in the background. The palate is straight, with an oily and dense and flavorful texture, with young woody and fruity flavors, which will develop with time. The attack is round, buttery, slightly spicy (vanilla, cardamom, cumin) and delicious. The palate then offers notes of ripe yellow peach, apricot, candied lemon, orange zest, lemon yogurt, flower honey, white flowers (apple blossom, acacia, hawthorn), a touch of lime zest, as well as a savoury, gourmet, toasted, buttery and slightly vanilla finish. Good persistence in the mouth, with a long finish, sapid, complex, rich and balanced, thanks to salivating acidity and good bitterness. There is also a pleasant note of toasted hazelnut at the end of the mouth.
