J. Moreau & Fils Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 2022 – Chablis Grand Cru

The wine has a pale lemon yellow color. The first nose expresses delicate, but pronounced woody and spicy notes. We find the aromas of fresh hazelnut (with a touch of toasted hazelnut, fresh wood and toasted wood in the background), a very light touch of vanilla, a hint of clove, as well as flower honey, pollen in background, dried lime and orange blossom, combined with a juicy and ripe fruitiness of yellow peach, apricot, fresh lemon, orange zest and yellow apple. The palate is savory, with a woody and spicy attack that reflects the nose in notes of fresh wood, toasted wood, toasted hazelnut, vanilla and clove. Then, we smell notes of honey, wax and pollen, combined with touches of dried lime, chamomile and wild flowers. The mid-palate is fruity, round and fleshy: it expresses the flavors of yellow peach, apricot, candied lemon, candied grapefruit and grapefruit juice, as well as lemon zest and green apple. The finish offers salivating acidity, freshness and straightness. A fragrant, complex, persistent and well-constructed wine.
