Château Tour de Termes 2023 – Saint-Estèphe, Cru Bourgeois Supérieur

The nose has fairly expressive woody notes (toasted wood, fresh wood), associated with notes of sweet spices (liquorice, nutmeg, a hint of vanilla), peony, rose, violet, crushed wild mint in the background, as well as tangy fruits (blackcurrant, morello cherry, bigarreau, blueberry, a touch of wild strawberry in the background). The attack on the palate is as woody as the first nose (we find notes of smoke, toasted wood, a touch of hazelnut). It is also chiseled and tight, even a little closed. The palate expresses notes of tangy fruits (bigarreau, gouge, blackcurrant, morello cherry), wild rose, a woody and spicy hint on the finish (liquorice, hazelnut, toast, toasted wood). The tannins are a little dry and firm, but the acidity is salivating and fresh.
