Château Le Gay 2023 – Pomerol

Lovely, elegant, precise and accurate nose, with a stretched and fleshy side at the same time. It reveals notes of boysenberry, small fleshy/dense fruits and small notes of crushed/fresh cassis associated with touches of infusion, elegant darkness as well as a hint of tonka bean, toasted/fresh coffee, discreet hints of cornflower, Bourbon vanilla, spices and a subtle hint of cardamom. The palate is beautifully fresh, fruity, gourmet, bright/pulpy and offers a delicate floral as well as a lovely three-dimensional side. A lovely soft and gourmet. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of violet, bright boysenberry, bright blue plum and small notes of roasted-juicy red fruits associated with touches of star anise, sweet blond tobacco as well as a fine hint of chocolate and a fine hint of graphite. A little softness of the tannins. Pulpiness, finesse as well as purity and brightness of the fruit. Presence of a subtle almost iodized hint at the end of the mouth/persistence.
