Château Joanin Bécot 2023 – Castillon Côtes-de-Bordeaux

The nose is fresh, chiseled, spicy and finely floral. It reveals notes of bright wild cassis, graphite and small notes of cornflower associated with touches of black pepper, hints of infusion, fine hints of small dense/juicy black fruits as well as discreet hints of black tea, toast and an imperceptible hint of almost aromatic herbs (in the background). The palate is nicely built, fruity, balanced and offers an acidulous frame, tension, accuracy, minerality, darkness, depth as well as a fine chalky touch. A precise and frank grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of wild cassis, small wild black berries and small notes of Madagascar pepper associated with touches of infusion, black tea as well as a hint of black cherry, violet, lilac and fine hints of coffee (in the background). The tannins are precise, tasty and well-built. Good length.
