Château Giscours 2023 – Margaux, Cru Classé

Château Giscours 2023 – Margaux, Cru Classé

Lovely frank nose, precise, fresh, nicely racy and offers a very fine, precise, airy and stretched grain. Fullness and a graphite side. Nice intensity and depth. We find notes of raspberry, fresh pepper and small notes of star anise associated with touches of lily, violet, hints of cornflower, blueberry, small roasted-juicy fruits (almost a discreet Mediterranean side in the approach) as well as a subtle hint almost sage, sweet spices, toasted, star anise and a very discreet hint of vanilla. The palate is nicely silky, juicy, pulpy, airy, precise, all in accuracy and offers delicacy as well as a stretched side. A very nice delicate, supple, captivating / melodious touch. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy blackberry, pulpy/juicy cassis and small notes of bright raspberry associated with fine touches of fruit flirting with roasted-fresh, pulpy/bright raspberry, blueberry as well as fine hints of violet, nasturtium, crushed blueberry, liquorice, graphite, camphor, salinity and toasted-fresh. The tannins are ripe and nicely chalky. A lovely harmonious wine offering a very nice “sense of detail”. A fine creamy side on the finish. Nice persistence.
