Château Apogée 2023 – Lalande de Pomerol

The nose is juicy and fruity, perfumed and floral. It first expresses notes of crushed red cherry, fresh morello cherry, blackcurrant and blueberry, combined with touches of violet and peony, a fine refreshing herbaceous hint (peppermint, blackcurrant leaf), almost sappy (pine sap, pine needles), as well as a spicy hint of liquorice and nutmeg. The palate is airy, tangy and fruity. It expresses the chiseled flavors of bigareau cherry, blackcurrant, cranberries (with a good bitterness) and morello cherry, as well as a touch of mint, blackcurrant leaf, pine needles and liquorice. The finish is lightly toasted, moderately persistent, with a salivating acidity, a good bitterness of dark chocolate and a hint of blackberry, which appears at the very end of the mouth.
