Château de Laurets, Edmond de Rothschild Heritage 2021 – Puisseguin Saint-Emilion

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity with slight purple reflections. The nose offers concentration, juicy fruity aromas, even with a hint of compote (ripe morello cherry, red cherry in compote, crushed wild strawberry, raspberry coulis, black plum with a touch of prunes in chocolate). On the second nose, the wine expresses spicy notes of liquorice, nutmeg, ground cumin, as well as a touch of dried mint, dried rose and roasted hazelnut in the background. In the mouth, there is suppleness, juiciness and gourmandise. The wine expresses the flavors of juicy morello cherry, black plum, blackberry, wild strawberry and red cherry, combined with touches of chocolate, liquorice, white pepper and cumin, which appear on the finish. There is also a hint of dried mint, toasted almond and dried rose. The tannins are firm, dry on the finish, but softened by a salivating acidity. An aromatic and structured wine, which needs to open up to balance the tannins.
