Château la Grande Barde 2021 – Montagne-Saint-Emilion

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is reserved and requires airing. It then offers accuracy, freshness, a certain concentration and expresses notes of black plum, blackcurrant, morello cherry, red cherry (with a touch of roasted red cherry) and wild strawberry, highlighted by aromas tasty with sweet spices (vanilla, liquorice), dark chocolate and coffee, as well as an aroma of fresh violet and herbaceous touches of dried rosemary and dried pine needles. The palate is round and silky, with lots of fruit and a harmoniously integrated spicy and woody notes. It expresses the flavors of black plum, morello cherry, tart bigarreau cherry, fresh strawberry, as well as grilled vanilla, liquorice, cloves and dark chocolate. The finish is quite persistent, enveloping, and expresses accuracy, straightness, good bitterness, as well as delicate herbaceous notes (dried pine needles). The tannins have a fine grain and a firm structure. Good length, freshness and nice acidity.
