Château Luchey-Halde 2021 – Pessac-Léognan

The wine has a pale lemon yellow color. The nose is gourmand and expresses aromas of juicy stone fruits (white peach, white plum, apricot), combined with notes of fresh quince, yellow apple, green pear, as well as tangy touches of citrus and zest (lemon, orange zest, grapefruit). We also find notes of acacia, apple blossom, a touch of torrefaction (lightly toasted hazelnut, fresh wood in the background) and sweet spices (vanilla, clove, a hint of liquorice in the background). The palate is ample, with a round and oily texture, balanced by a lively salivating acidity and tangy citrus notes. It expresses the flavors of lemon, lime, green apple, quince, fresh green pear, combined with the roundness of white peach and apricot, as well as gourmandise of sweet spices and woody notes (vanilla, nutmeg, a touch of liquorice, fresh hazelnut) and fine floral notes (acacia, apple blossom). The finish is chiseled and fresh (with notes of lemon and green apple), but less expressive than the mid-palate. A straight and lively wine.
