Le Strette, Bergera-Pezzole 2020 – Barolo

Le Strette, Bergera-Pezzole 2020 – Barolo

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose offers a savoury spiciness (liquorice, cumin seeds, nutmeg), delicate herbaceous notes (rosemary, dried mint), a touch of cocoa and torrefaction (toasted hazelnut), envelopped in a fresh and juicy fruitiness (strawberry, crushed raspberry, wild blueberry, a touch of dried blackcurrant and wild blackberry) and complemented by a delicate floral bouquet (dried rose, dried peony) and a fine minerality (limestone, graphite). The palate is chiselled, tangy, with a tight tannin structure and good bitterness on the finish. It expresses notes of tangy black fruits (blackcurrant, wild blueberry) as well as red fruits (red cherry, raspberry, cranberries), flowers (fresh rose, lilac) and sweet spices (liquorice, cumin, white pepper), associated with a herbaceous touch (dried mint, dried pine needles). The finish is persistent, powdery and textured, with freshness and gourmandise, good acidity and a fine hint of torrefaction (cocoa, toasted hazelnut, coffee).
