Casa E. di Mirafiore, Lazzarito 2020 – Barolo

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose expresses notes of roasted red cherry, fresh morello cherry, blueberry, black plum and wild blackberry, combined with touches of roasted and fresh aromatic herbs (roasted thyme, peppermint, crushed bay berries), flowers (lily, violet, rose petals) and sweet spices in the background (grated nutmeg, cumin, liquorice). The palate is gourmand, juicy and fruity, with a savoury, but enveloped spiciness, firm but fine and powdery tannins, and a salivating acidity. It expresses the flavors of roasted red cherry, morello cherry, wild blackberry, blueberry, black plum in the background and crushed raspberry, combined with spicy notes of nutmeg, white pepper and liquorice, and with a herbaceous touch (roasted thyme, bay leaf) and floral (withered rose, lily). The finish is sapid and lingering and expresses savory notes of roasted aromatic herbs and dried red cherry, combined with a touch of dried rose. Beautiful structure, straightness and a fresh and juicy fruitiness.
