Poderi Luigi Einaudi Villero 2020 – Barolo

The wine has a pale ruby color with slight garnet reflections. The nose offers notes of ripe fruit (wild strawberry, morello cherry, crushed raspberry, a touch of blackberry and black plum), combined with woody notes and touches of torrefaction (toasted wood, toasted hazelnut), pine needles, fresh flowers (rose, peony), wild mint, menthol and a fine spiciness (nutmeg, liquorice, white pepper). The palate is gourmand and tasty. It expresses notes of sweet spices (liquorice, a touch of clove, nutmeg, white pepper), cocoa, dried herbs (dried mint, a hint of tobacco), flowers (dried rose, peony) and ripe fruits (strawberry, raspberry, a touch of blackberry, black plum and morello cherry). The tannins are finely tight and enveloped in the juiciness of the fruit and a beautiful acidity. The finish is long, with juicy notes of morello cherry, amarena cherry and a touch of toasted hazelnut. A gourmet, complex wine, powerful and elegant.
