Azienda Agricola Negretti, Rive 2020 – Barolo

The wine has a pale ruby color. On the nose, it expresses aromas of fresh fruit (red cherry, strawberry, crushed raspberry, wild plum, crushed blackcurrant) with a hint of roasted and candied fruit (roasted red cherry, candied blackcurrant), a fine spiciness (liquorice, cloves), herbaceous (roasted aromatic herbs) and mineral (limestone) notes, as well as with a floral touch (fresh rose, dried cornflower in the background). The palate is juicy and fresh, with silky, fine, but drying tannins. The flavors are fruity, tangy and fresh: we find notes of tart red cherry, crushed raspberry, wild plum, cranberries and blackcurrant, combined with notes of liquorice, nutmeg, cloves, dried rose and has a hint of limestone minerality. The finish is persistent and expresses slight notes of torrefaction (roasted red cherry, roasted aromatic herbs), salivating acidity and the juiciness of fresh fruit.
