Rizzi, Pajorè 2021 – Barbaresco

Rizzi, Pajorè 2021 – Barbaresco

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is reserved and discreet. It first expresses the subtle, but quite fragrant, floral notes (dried rose, cornflower, lily), which are then completed by the gourmand notes of ripe strawberries, morello cherries (even with a hint of morello cherry jam), crushed blueberries, as well as savoury touches of nutmeg, liquorice stick, white pepper, combined with touches of dried mint, fresh hazelnut and fresh tobacco. The palate is finely tight and offers a certain volume, a firm but silky tannin structure, good bitterness and a gourmand fruity substance. The attack is fruity, enveloping, the mid-palate is more airy. We find notes of strawberry, red cherry, red currant, a slight bitterness of cranberries, crushed blueberry, notes of flowers (rose, lily), sweet spices (liquorice, nutmeg, white pepper), a hint of dried mint and tobacco. The finish is chocolatey and delicious, with grippy tannins, good bitterness and lively acidity.
