The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is dense, fragrant and offers a fleshy fruitiness, complemented by warming spicy notes. It expresses precise, straight aromas, with a pleasant tanginess: wild strawberry, morello cherry, red cherry, blackcurrant, cranberries, blueberry, combined with touches of vanilla, cinnamon, licorice (even star anise), cloves, a freshness of wild mint and pine needles, flowers (violet, peony), as well as a fine mineral note (gravel, wet stone) in the background. On the palate, the wine is chiseled and tangy. It expresses notes of fresh fruit (bigarreau cherry, blackcurrant, raspberry, wild strawberry, cranberries), spices (licorice, black pepper, a touch of vanilla), wild mint, violet and peony, with a herbaceous touch of blackcurrant leaf. The tannins are grippy. On the finish, the wine presents a high and salivating acidity, as well as tangy notes of red fruits (bigarreau cherry, cranberries, blackcurrant), with a touch of bitterness.
