The wine has a deep ruby-purple color. The nose is fragrant, deep and concentrated, it offers a beautiful fruitiness and complexity. It expresses the aromas of blackcurrant, wild blackberry, wild strawberry, elderberries, blueberry, a light note of prune cream, combined with fine spicy touches of liquorice, nutmeg, cloves, toasted hazelnut, smoke (even a little meaty), as well as aromatic herbs (roasted thyme, bay leaf, a touch of wild mint) and flowers (violet, peony), with a fine resinous and chocolatey note in the background. On the palate, the wine offers freshness, precision and juiciness. It expresses the flavors of fresh morello cherry, bigarreau cherry, red currant, elderberries, raspberry and crunchy strawberry, combined with sweet spices (licorice, cloves, nutmeg, a hint of vanilla), fresh flowers (rose, violet, peony petals) and fine touches of torrefaction (toasted almond, sweet coffee). The tannins are a little rough, but balanced by a lively acidity. The finish is rather persistent and offers roundness and freshness. A balanced and delicious wine, elegant, very fruity and subtly mineral.
