The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is a bit reserved at first, but subtle and refined. It expresses notes of roasted red cherry, morello cherry, creamy blackcurrant, wild strawberry, raspberry coulis, redcurrant jelly, as well as roasted aromatic herbs (thyme, rosemary), dried mint, violet, lily and a fine smoky and spicy notes (licorice, nutmeg). The palate is juicy, enveloping and fresh. The tannic structure is firm and its texture is a bit grainy (the wine needs time to round out), but the roundness of the fruity substance and the sweet notes of wild strawberry, morello cherry, creamy blackcurrant, cherry roasted red wine and raspberry coulis soften it. The palate also expresses a fine spiciness (nutmeg, cloves, licorice), a touch of toasted hazelnut and cocoa, as well as notes of violet and cornflower. Beautiful acidity and freshness on the quite persistent finish.
