Domaine Ansodelles, Conversation 2022 – Bourgueil

The wine has a deep ruby color with purple reflections. The wine is closed to the nose and requires aeration. It expresses concentration, a certain depth and the fleshiness of ripe black fruits: morello cherry, wild blackberry, crushed blackcurrant (even crème de cassis in the background), as well as wild strawberries, fresh raspberries and red currant jelly. There is also a touch of rose, violet, cherry blossom, as well as a very delicate spiciness (ground nutmeg and cumin). On the palate, the wine is juicy, silky, full, but fresh. The flavors are expressive and slightly sweet (without adding sweetness to the wine), with a fine hint of fermentation. We find notes of crushed morello cherry, tart red cherry, crushed blackcurrant, redcurrant jelly, raspberry coulis, as well as violet, rose petals and sweet spices (nutmeg, a touch of licorice). The finish offers a warm side, even a little cocoa and pepper. The tannins are structured and still need to round out, but have a fine texture. Beautiful acidity, the finish is gourmand, tasty and persistent. To see after a few years in bottle.
