Domaine Filliatreau 2020 – Saumur – Champigny

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is a little reserved and discreet. After aeration, it expresses notes of strawberry, red cherry, raspberry, red currant jelly, a beautiful floral hint: a touch of violet, lily, as well as a herbaceous hint (blackcurrant bud, mint dried, blond tobacco in the background) and spicy (nutmeg). The palate is juicy and gourmand, a little tight at the beginning (the tannins are fine, but firm and a little dry). It expresses notes of crunchy strawberry, raspberry, cranberries, blackcurrant, red cherry, associated with notes of dried mint, blackcurrant bud, as well as a delicate spicy (nutmeg),herbaceous (blackcurrant bud) notes, blackcurrant, dried mint) and floral (violet). Beautiful acidity and persistence with a pleasant bitterness. Structure, accuracy and gourmandise. A frank and straight wine.
