Thierry Germain, Domaine des Roches Neuves, Francs de Pied 2022 – Saumur – Champigny

The wine has a deep and bright ruby color, with purplish reflections. The nose is straight, juicy and offers a pure fruity expression. We find notes of morello cherry, bigarreau cherry, crushed blackcurrant (even crème de cassis), blackberry and wild strawberry, associated with slightly sweet floral notes of peony and lilac, as well as touches of menthol and chocolate in the background. On the palate, the wine is airy, it offers a texture of silky tannins and juiciness. The flavors are fruity, ripe and fresh. We find notes of morello cherry, bigarreau cherry, wild strawberry, fresh blackcurrant, raspberry, as well asa floral touch of lilac and violet. The finish offers good persistence, juiciness and salivating acidity.
