The wine has a medium ruby colour. The nose is precise, racy, with an elegant bouquet of ripe fruit and perceptible but subtle spicy notes. It expresses aromas of black fruits (blueberry, blackcurrant, Morello cherry, blackberry) and juicy red fruits (wild strawberry, red currant, raspberry), as well as fine touches of vanilla, cinnamon, coffee, liquorice, black pepper, clove and hints of fresh and dried flowers and herbs (dried cornflower, dried rose petals, fresh peppermint and lilac). The palate offers juiciness and a fruity, open attack. It expresses fresh red and black fruit flavours (sour cherry, Morello cherry, blueberry, blackberry, wild strawberry, red currant), fresh flowers (lily, cornflower, a hint of peony) as well as fine notes of dark chocolate and sweet spices (cinnamon, liquorice, clove). The tannins are supple, smooth and fine, but well-structured. The finish is long, gourmet and expressive: there are fruity notes of ripe Morello cherry, blue plum, a touch of chocolate and freshness thanks to a crisp acidity, a hint of bitterness and dried mint in the background.
