The wine has a ruby colour of medium intensity. The nose is aromatic, juicy and concentrated, expressing notes of ripe black fruits (Morello cherry, blue plum, blackberry, fresh blackcurrant) and tangy red fruits (Bigarreau cherry, red currant, wild strawberry). There is also a nice freshness of dried herbs and flowers: there are notes of dried mint, chopped peppermint, rosemary and liquorice, as well as touches of cornflower, peony and lilac and a subtle spiciness in the background (clove, cinnamon, white pepper). On the palate the wine expresses juicy black fruit (blackberry, black plum, blueberry, Morello cherry) and tart red fruit (strawberry, red cherry, currant), with a refined touch of fresh flowers (lilac, peony) and aromatic herbs (rosemary, peppermint). The tannins are firm but supple and give the wine a solid structure. Nice persistence and complexity on the juicy, spicy (pepper, mint) finish, with good bitterness and a fine smoky note in the background. Good acidity, fruit concentration, energy and complexity.
