Château Viella Prestige 2020 – Madiran

The wine has a deep ruby color. The first nose expresses the freshness of menthol and peppermint as well as spicy and woody aromas from the aging of the wine: there are toasted notes, coffee, liquorice, cloves and a fine vanilla touch. We then find aromas of red cherry, morello cherry, black plum, red plum, blueberry, quetsche and blue fig. On the palate, the wine has a firm tannic structure, with fine-grained tannins, enveloped by the concentrated and rich fruity substance. The flavors are expressive and complex: there are notes of chocolate cherry, kirsch cherry, black plum, morello cherry, crushed strawberry, as well as notes of roasting, cocoa, bitter chocolate, coffee, black pepper, wild mint, liquorice and bay leaf. Nice concentration and length in the mouth, with refreshing acidity. A generous, harmonious wine with great aging potential.
