The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers concentration, but it is a bit reserved and needs aeration. It reveals notes of juicy red and black fruits (morello cherry, strawberry, red cherry, red plum, raspberry coulis, wild blackberry, red plum), sweet spices (clove, liquorice, white pepper, a touch of cinnamon), dried herbs (thyme, dried mint) and a delicate touch of dried rose petals with a smoky note in the background. On the palate, the wine offers juiciness and richness. The attack is round and ripe, fruity (it expresses notes of wild strawberries, raspberry coulis, Morello cherry, red cherry, red plum, blueberry, cherry in kirsch). In the mid-palate, the wine expresses more spiciness (nutmeg, clove, white pepper), chocolate and subtle notes of dried herbs (mint, thyme, sage). The finish is warm and fruity (it expresses in particular the flavors of cherry in kirsch), with a slight bitterness and a touch of fresh almond in the background. The tannins are grippy, a little rough on the finish. Good length, fairly fresh acidity, roundness and fruit on the finish.
