The nose is well conducted and offers an airiness, a nice graininess and a certain harmony. There are notes of boysenberry, fresh blond tobacco and, to a lesser extent, crushed currants, combined with a touch of roasted cherry and sweet spices. The palate is mineral, balanced and offers fruit, smoothness, roundness, sweetness and a fine, taut texture. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy cherry, blackberry and more slightly violet combined with hints of lily/lilac, hints of clove, fine hints of pulpy/acidic berries as well as a hint of sweet blond tobacco and a subtle touch of vanilla. The tannins are supple and well-managed. Good length.
