The nose is fresh, fruity and offers some concentration and intensity as well as a spicy edge. There are notes of pulpy boysenberry, blueberry and slightly blackcurrant combined with hints of wild strawberry, pepper and a touch of spice. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers freshness, good definition, spiciness, crispness, energy and a tangy backbone. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/pulpy cherry, fresh/crisp blackcurrant and more slightly violet notes combined with hints of pepper, peony as well as hints of cocoa/tonka bean and a subtle hint of fresh blond tobacco. The tannins are supple. Good length.
