Les Hauts de Smith 2020 – Pessac-Léognan

Les Hauts de Smith 2020 – Pessac-Léognan

Nice nose offering a controlled intensity, a certain power as well as a nice fine and powerful grain. It reveals notes of fresh blackberry, small wild black berries and slight notes of pepper associated with touches of violet, lily as well as slight hints of nutmeg, a discreet almost rooty note, colas and a very discreet hint of fresh blond tobacco. The mouth is nicely fresh, fruity and offers gourmandise, a nice smoothness, a tangy frame, a nice energy, harmony as well as a certain power/brilliance in finesse. Some “lightness” in its richness of the fruit. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/bright blackberry and slight notes of small black berries associated with touches of raspberry, mocha, torrefaction as well as discreet hints of crushed blue berries and Bourbon vanilla. Good length. A subtle chewiness at the end of the mouth and a fine graphite note.
