The nose is captivating and offers a fine spiciness, as well as a subtle hint of almost “candle wax”. It reveals notes of fresh/juicy black berries, violet and a slight hint of black pepper associated with touches of small ripe wild berries, camphor as well as a hint of bergamot, saffron (in its floral bouquet) and toast. The palate is fruity and offers minerality, good definition, smoothness, a fine fatness, gourmandise, accuracy and a certain finesse. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackcurrant, crushed blackberry and slight hints of bright raspberry associated with a touch of blueberry, peony/iris as well as fine hints of graphite, bergamot and fresh tobacco. The tannins are supple and well-developed. Good length. A nice wine, not yet in place but with great potential. To keep!
