The nose is fresh and offers some concentration as well as a nice fine grain and a little restraint. The wine should be decanted. There are notes of nutmeg, fresh pepper and more slightly of wild black berries combined with hints of crushed cherry, star anise as well as a hint of clove and a subtle almost laurel touch. The palate is fruity, taut and offers freshness, minerality, juiciness, a fresh/acidic structure, accuracy, a certain finesse and energy. On the palate, this wine expresses juicy Bigarreau cherry, pulpy/juicy black berry and slightly violet plum notes combined with hints of ripe red berries, fine clove, nutmeg and a discreet hint of pepper and almost olive tree. The tannins are supple.
