Château Hyon La Fleur 2022 – Saint-Emilion

(100% Merlot) The nose is fresh, fruity, aromatic and offers a little crunch, tension, gourmandise, a nice pulpy side as well as a certain depth. It reveals notes of violet, pulpy cherry and small notes of pulpy/juicy blueberry associated with touches of pulpy raspberry as well as hints of colas, cherry blossoms, violet as well as fine hints of clove, camphor and a subtle hint of black pepper. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers juiciness, a tangy frame, tension, gourmandise, roundness, a beautiful freshness, purity, accuracy, smoothness, a lovely energy as well as some crunchiness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/crunchy cherry, violet, fresh lily and small notes of bright blackberry associated with touches of small fresh/bright berries as well as hints of juicy/fresh violet plum, tobacco fresh, lily as well as fine hints of racy minerality (terroir) as well as fine hints of sweet blond tobacco and a subtle hint of chocolate. A subtle hint of fresh varietal in the background.
