Château de Chainchon, Valmy Dubourdieu Lange 2022 – Castillon – Côtes de Bordeaux

Château de Chainchon, Valmy Dubourdieu Lange 2022 – Castillon – Côtes de Bordeaux

The nose offers depth, richness and a certain complexity. It expresses a fruity, ripe and concentrated substance: we find notes of black plum (or even very slightly prunes), crème de cassis, blackberry, wild strawberry, raspberry coulis and red currant jam with a hint of acidity. There is also freshness of crunchy blackcurrant and morello cherry, a touch of menthol, peppermint, rosemary (in the background) and a spicy side (licorice, black pepper, nutmeg), completed by a floral touch of violet and lily. On the palate, the wine is warm and robust, it offers concentration and chew. The flavors are rich, juicy and generous: we find notes of ripe black fruits (blackcurrant, black plum, blackberry), even a little jammy (griotte jam, crème de cassis), complemented by notes of fresh red fruits ( wild strawberry, red plum), a pleasant touch of dark chocolate, chocolate mint, sweet coffee, toasted, as well as the freshness of flowers (violet, lily) and a spicy side (licorice, cloves) . The tannin structure is firm, but refined: the tannins are enveloping, fine and well constructed. Beautiful finish with the freshness of tangy black fruits and a lively, but supple acidity. A full-bodied wine, with good potential.
