Château Roquevieille Excellence 2022 – Castillon – Côtes de Bordeaux

The nose is pleasant, complex and expresses a beautiful freshness and a delicate tanginess. We find notes of fresh blackcurrant, juicy morello cherry, wild strawberry, red currant, as well as notes of spices – black pepper, nutmeg and licorice, complemented by a touch of smoke, flowers (violet, cornflower) and a very slight note of toast and bitter cocoa. On the palate, we find a well-built tannin structure, with good hold and a fine texture of tannins, as well as a nice acidity. The wine has good concentration and expresses ripe and juicy fruit flavors (griotte, blackcurrant, wild strawberry, blackberry, black plum), complemented by a delicate bitterness of cocoa, with an integrated spiciness (black pepper, clove, a touch of licorice). The finish is persistent, fruity, juicy and quite fresh. A wine with a beautiful fruity substance, density and a well-built tannic structure, which give it good potential for development.
