La Guardiense Il per mille – l’Aglianico 2013 – Sannio Aglianico Riserva Guardia Sanfralondi DOP

The nose is nicely powerful and offers some intensity, spiciness and fine roasted hints. It expresses notes of roasted cherry, pulpy blackberry and, more slightly, crushed red berries, combined with touches of liquorice stick and fine hints of star anise and pepper, as well as an imperceptible hint of sage. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, a tangy frame, tension, precision, a certain roundness, gourmandize, good definition. It expresses notes of roasted cherry, crushed blackberry, and, more slightly, crushed red berries, combined with a touch of liquorice as well as fine hints of vanilla, violet, chocolate and anise. Good length.
