Château Latour 2020 – Pomerol

Château Latour 2020 – Pomerol

The nose is elegant, fresh and racy. There is intensity in accuracy and mastery in distinction. There is some straightness with notes of wild cassis, gray pepper and small notes of violets associated with hints of pulpy berry fruit and a note of racy minerality, almost roasted red berry fruit and a discreet hint of sweet spices and bergamot. There is also a slight hint of smoke. The palate is fruity with a juicy acid frame and minerality. There is a good definition, a certain gourmandise, accuracy and energy with some vibration, even electric tension. It is a wine with depth and notes of pulpy and juicy blackberries, cassis and slight pepper associated with touches of tonka bean, raspberry as well as hints of lily and violet as well as fine hints of toast and a subtle note of vanilla and crushed almonds. The palate has a subtle smoky note and we perceive chocolate in the background. Good length, definition and lovely freshness and minerality. There is suppleness and delicacy as well as richness in the density with a fine airiness.
