Le Petit 2020 – Pomerol

Le Petit 2020 – Pomerol

The nose is elegant, fruity, delicate with some airiness in the relative richness of its fruit. There is depth with notes of pulpy blackberries, roasted cherries and faint violets combined with touches of roasted berries, a hint of bright blue plum as well as delicate hints of roses and a subtle star anise. We also perceive a very discreet note of sap and vanilla. The mouth is fruity, elegant, silky, delicate all in laces and precision. There is accuracy, finesse and a nice richness with fruit maturity. It’s aerial with energy and subtlety. We perceive a nice work on the bitters in the background with notes of roasted cherries, fairly ripe wild blackberries and slight hints of bright purple plums as well as hints of small red fruits, star anise and racy minerality (even of gravels) bringing flavor. There is a slight hint of fresh flowers almost lilac as well as very discreet hints of cocoa and coffee in the background. Silkiness side and sapidity on a lingering finish. There are good bitters on the finish with a silky side and a very discreetly tight grain.
