The wine shows a medium-deep ruby-garnet colour. The nose at first is slightly reductive and muted, opening up with notes of savoury herbs (rosemary, sage), coffee, a touch of smoked meat and some saltiness. The palate shows a nice salinity and minerality, solid fruit concentration lifted up by the refreshing acidity. Notes of red and black cherries interlace with hints of paprika, tomato leaf, roasted meat and soya sauce. The tannins are robust but round and polished. A delicious wine with a mineral, elegant finish.
