San Felice Il Grigio Chianti Classico Riserva 2019

The wine shows a medium-deep, opaque ruby colour. The nose is dense and heady, revealing concentration and power. There are notes of cherry liquor, bramble, black cherries in dark chocolate, as well as cinnamon and cloves. The palate is dense, powerful, with a nice, refreshing acidity, opening up with notes of juicy black cherries, blackberries, a touch of tobacco, rosemary and roasted meat. The tannins are chalky but smooth and well-managed. The finish is crunchy, juicy with a pleasant savoury character and minerality. A very polished, well-made wine.
