The wine shows a typical, pale ruby colour fine some garnet hints. On the nose it is packed with spices – cinnamon, cloves, a touch of nutmeg and vanilla. The second nose reveals notes of kirsch, cherry liquor, a touch of liquorice and balsamic. The palate is concentrated, powerful but keeps freshness due to the signature Sangiovese acidity. We find notes of dried and cooked cherries, red berries compote, a touch of sour cherries and cranberries. The tannins are grippy and drying but elegant and well-managed. There is a nice graphite minerality on the finish.
