The wine shows a pale ruby colour. The nose is slightly reductive, smoky, needs some aeration. It opens up with notes of black cherries, blackberries, bramble, combined with nuances of cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate is concentrated and powerful, revealing notes of cherry liquor, cherries in dark chocolate, liqourice, a touch of iron and earthiness. A modern style of Chianti Classico with slightly drying but well-managed tannins and a savoury, herbal finish.
