Cascina Nuova – Fida 2019 – Nizza

(Organic) A pretty, fresh and elegant nose that offers a certain aromatic richness as well as an intensity of gourmandise. There are notes of wild cherry, crushed redcurrant and, more slightly, violet combined with touches of crushed wild strawberry as well as discreet hints of vanilla and fine pepper. The palate is fruity, a little tight and offers juiciness, a nice freshness/minerality, sapidity, an acidic frame, a certain tension as well as a good work on the bitter taste. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh cherry, redcurrant and more slightly iris, sense of place (local biotop) combined with hints of juicy blackberry and a subtle hint of star anise and chocolate. Good length. The tannins are supple and smooth.
