The wine needs to be decanted. The nose is racy and offers a fine spiciness as well as power in finesse. There are notes of roasted cherry, violet and, to a lesser extent, bright boysenberry, combined with hints of jammy redcurrant, violet, star anise, grey pepper and a very discreet hint of sap (in the background). The palate is fruity and offers suavity, gourmandise, unctuousness, energy, a nice roundness as well as a fine acidic frame. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of cherry, roasted blackberry and, more slightly, blueberry, combined with touches of red berries, hints of star anise, sap and nutmeg, as well as a very discreet hint of sweet blond tobacco and a subtle hint of the sense of place (biotop)/local grove. The tannins are structured. A very discreet hint of roast in the background.
