The nose offers a certain intensity, a fine grain as well as a fine well-mastered power. The wine beneficiates from being decanted. It reveals notes of crushed boysenberry, fairly ripe purple plum, and small notes of cooked blackcurrant associated with touches of fairly ripe raspberry, coffee, and cloves as well as slight hints of truffle and toasted almond. The palate is fruity, discreetly tight, and offers juiciness, a nice acidity as well as tension. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of cherry in kirsch, bright redcurrant, and small notes of bright strawberry associated with hints of cornflower, cooked blackcurrant as well as a fine hint of almost fig, truffle, tobacco as well as a very discreet hint of toasted almond. The tannins offer some chewiness. Good length.
