Domaine La Bosque, Patte de Loup -2018, Saint-Chinian

The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose has a medium (+) intensity and expresses notes of sweet spices (cloves, nutmeg, liquorice), a hint of bitter cocoa, and ripe and dried black and red fruits (black plum, prunes, red cherry fresh and dried, fresh raspberry). On the second nose, herbaceous notes appear  – fresh rosemary, dried thyme, and peppermint – as well as a very slight hint of fresh almond and pine nut. On the palate, the attack is supple and open, with candied and macerated red fruits (morello cherries, prunes in Armagnac, crushed strawberries), underlined by a note of fresh Morello cherries. On the finish, there are notes of dried flowers (rose petals, violet) and dried herbs (mint, thyme). The tannins have a medium (+) level and a fine grain. The body has a medium (+) level with a refreshing acidity of a medium (+) level. The finish is long and complex, with notes of tangy fresh fruit, complemented by the freshness of various dried herbs (mint, thyme, rosemary), and ends with a hint of minerality. A straightforward wine, with a varied bouquet, tight structure, and complexity.
