Domaine du Château de Meursault 2020 – Beaune-Toussaints, Premier Cru

The nose is racy, velvety and mineral and offers a certain intensity, a nice grain, as well as a slight spicy and chocolate notes. It reveals notes of bright boysenberry, bright blackcurrant, and more slightly – notes of crushed strawberry associated with touches of violet, and chocolate as well as slight hints of vanilla and a hint of sweet blond tobacco. The palate is nicely mineral, fresh, and elegant and offers a nice finesse in its roundness, a nice definition, a certain spherical side, harmony, a fresh/tangy frame, sapidity as well as a good job on the good bitters (on the finish). On the palate, this wine expresses notes of creamy blackberry, juicy/pulpy plum, and slight notes of fresh raspberry associated with touches of crushed redcurrant, hints of violet, lilac as well as a subtle hint of almost iris, a racy minerality, with sweet blond tobacco and toast. Good length. A fine hint of tonka bean on the persistence. Nice freshness.
