The nose offers finesse, good definition, nobility and power. There are notes of ripe black berries, wild strawberries and, more slightly, Cuben pepper, combined with subtle touches of cardamom and a subtle hint of mocha, lily and a delicate hint of star anise. The palate offers minerality, precision, tension, some fat, freshness, roundness, a nice precision/definition and a nice, tightly packed body. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy blackberry, fairly ripe black berries and, more slightly, crushed raspberry, combined with hints of cardamom, camphor, nutmeg, as well as fine hints of sweet spices, a hint of tobacco and a subtle toasted almond skins (in the background). Good length.
