The nose is tightly wound and offers power, concentration, gourmandise and intensity of grain. The wine benefits from being decanted. There are notes of crunchy wild blackcurrant, flowers and more slightly spices combined with hints of crushed wild strawberry, bright wild black berries, nutmeg, black tea and a very discreet hint of sap and pepper. The palate is fruity, mineral, discreetly tight and offers freshness, tension, energy, fatness, roundness and a certain gourmandise. On the palate this wine expresses bright Morello cherry, pulpy/very ripe blackberry and more slightly crushed wild red berry notes combined with hints of liquorice/zan, camphor, spice, discreet hints of iris/lys, vanilla and a subtle hint of black tea and sweet blond tobacco. Good length. Good (and discreet) work on the bitter taste, especially on the finish.
