Penner-Ash – Pinot Noir 2019 – Willamette Valley

Penner-Ash – Pinot Noir 2019 – Willamette Valley

The nose is fruity, fresh and reveals a nice definition of fruit, a certain purity of fruit and some tense freshness. There are hints of pulpy/blushing cherry, bright plum and more lightly bright blackberry combined with fine touches of violet, bergamot as well as fine chocolate and a very discreet, almost sappy quality. The palate is nicely conducted, elegant, fresh and reveals delicacy, purity, a nice fruit, some airiness in the approach and a nice racy/terroir minerality. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/sparkling cherry, blueberry and more lightly violet combined with touches of bright blue plum as well as a subtle hint of liquorice, cardamom and a discreet touch of bergamot. The tannins are elegant, delicate and silky. Lovely sapidity/suavity.
